Summer Learning Journey Day 5 Activity 1 Week 2

On your blog, tell us all about your (imaginary) VE party. If it was me, I would invite all of my closest friends and family over to my house for a big barbecue. We would eat hamburgers and play basketball in the driveway. Some of us would probably walk to the local beach to play soccer on the beach and to go for a swim (if the weather was warm enough)!

I would go to the beach and have a barbecue. I'd invite my parents, my other family members , friends, neighbors.  I would also do water skiing , go eat ice cream, kayaking and spend time together and celebrate the day.

World War 1 

65 million soldiers were mobilized the during the war, 8 million died and 21 million were wounded  58,000 British soldiers were lost on the first day at the Battle of somme. 

World War 2 

The breakout of  the war was in 1839. The war started on the 1 September 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from the west, after  two days  France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World war 2.

He's name was William Hardham  was the first New Zealand born serviceman to receive the Victoria Cross. He won his award in South Africa serving with the fourth New Zealand contingent. After his unit was ambushed, Hardham rode back to pick up a wounded soldier, helping him to safety under heavy fire. He was thee only Victoria Cross won by a New Zealander during the Southern African (Boer) War.

Imagine that you were able to travel back in time to visit a family in the 1930s. What special gifts or treats would you like to bring with you? I would likely bring blocks of Whittaker’s chocolate, bags of Jet Planes and Pineapple Lumps, healthy food snacks, clothing, and games for the children. What about you?

I would bring the people of the village with Healthy food snacks, games and clothing. That is what I would have given to them.

Imagine that you were alive in the 1930s. What could you have done to help these families? On your blog, list three different ways that you could raise funds for families to help them buy food and clothing. Be as creative as you can with your fundraising ideas!

1. Have a fund raiser.

2. Sing in streets, resturants and malls.

3. Have a bake sale.

I think that the movie gold rush is about a four people on a adventure looking for gold.

I think that the movie lions cage is about a man who is trying to escape from a horse. He gets away but gets stuck in a lions cage. He trying to get and keep the lion from waking up.

No, Its because I will not be able to understand the movie properly.
