Summer Learning Journey Day 2 Activity 1 Week 1

In the 1800's most Maori people  lived in village called pa.  Every village had many buildings kauta  where  people made there meals pataka and where they kept all there belongings  and wharepuni where the Maori people slept.  This was a home and a shelter for storage.

  1. Hello Nickaela!

Thanks for sharing another Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) post! Always love seeing colourful photos that make your blog stand out!

For this activity, it asks you to compare you house with the Wharepuni. See how many differences and similarities there are between your house and a Wharepuni.
    Example:
My house is white and green with two levels. The Wharepuni is yellow and brown on ground level.
My house is made out of bricks and timber, the timber has been painted white. Whereas the Wharepuni is made out of just wood.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to help.

Can’t wait to read more of your posts!

    Cadence :)

  2. Hi Nickaela
Great job on completing this activity, but I don't think you understood this activity very well, which is okay because some of them can be confusing for a person competing for their first time.
