Tech

Today we had our second Tech session in Art with Ms. Telefoni. We were finishing our designs that related to our culture. For my designs I created the first box I drew the African continent, then in these second box, I drew a sun that reflects the Namib and a dolphin tale.  When I am finished coloring in my design I will need to crave it out. I can't wait for next week. 

Tech

Today we had Tech at Tamaki College. This was our second to last session at Pewter Casting with Mr Grundy. Last week I took home my design home to give to my mom and I think she liked it very much because it was the best design for her that is why I chose the chef's hat. The thing I had to do was to finish my work book. I still have a couple more question to finish and then to find out what Pewter is to give me extra marks. 

Tech

Today for Tech we were starting to finish up our design and choosing who the design was for. We had four people to choose that are close to, also choose four designs for each person then we ended up with sixteen design all together. I finished finding all my designs and I choose to make my pendent for my mom. First Mr Grundy printed out my design on a piece of paper, than he told me to turn it around  hold my paper up to the light and draw a light circle around my design. After I drew a light circle around my drawing, started shading the back of my paper so I could trace it onto my piece of wood. I traced it onto my piece of wood and I told Mr Grundy if I could use the wood cutter to cut out my design. The shape that I cut out was kind of wonky but Mr Grundy help me a little. After I was done cutting Mr Grundy put the pewter into the mold that I made, he told me to stand back because if the pewter landed on me I would be in a lot of pain. After about five minutes later my design was ready to take out. I am so happy that I finish my first design. I think that group B year eight are really looking forward to next week Friday. 

Compare and Contrast / Tech

Today was our second week of tech and we were starting to look at design ideas for our mobile phone holder. We compared two different types of phone holders. Then we looked at the differences between the mobile phone holders. Next week we while be starting our designs. 

Tech / Digital Tech

Today was LS2 first week back for tech and I was in Digital Tech. We made a avatar of our selves and then we made a  DLO about our favorite things to eat, watch, were and song to listen to ,We also put our avatar on the DLO this was really fun to do and cool.  

Tech Reflection

Today was our first week back at tech. We were put into groups according to our year groups the year 7's went to Mr Grundy class for Hard Materials, year 8 group A went to Miss Ferguson's classroom for Digital Tech and year 8 group B went to Miss classroom for Art. This was really great day and to do something new.  

Social Science

Last Week Friday LS2 went to Tamaki Collage for tech and we were put into group like Social Science , Robotics and P.E. I was in Social Science and  my partner was Jorja. We played pursued and we used google earth to find out were we where. We enjoyed it and I thank Ms Apelu for teaching us.
  

My first day at Tech

Today we had tech and I enjoyed it very much because we were in cooking groups. It was my first time at tech and I worked with Joshua and Viva. She had the most fun because she got to smash the cookies! To make the milkshake you need 1 cup of ice cream, 2 cups of milk and 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce. We also got some Oreos, whipped cream and sprinkles to add as toppings. We mixed all of the ingredients together and we made a delicious Oreo shake. My first time at tech was fun. I liked working with Viva and Joshua they were so nice to me and it was amazing to work with my new friends and have fun while I was learning.
