Mathematic Startegy

Today Mr Wong kindly created a basic facts challenge for Mrs Anderson's group. On this slide we did basic facts addition strategy. We had ten addition  questions. This was a little hard but I got better at it when I thought about the question and did it again. I would like to thank Mr Wong for his slide.

Wheel words

Wheel Words

Today for reading my group Rotorua and another group Motuihe were busy playing this game called Wheel words. I timed ten minutes for everyone in my group. In my four-letter words, I found clot, colt, cote, felt and tore, in the five letter words I found cleft, croft, elect and erect.  In the seven letter words, I found crofter, elector, and erector. For the obscure words, I found flot, lote, teer, teel, reet and leet. I really liked finding these words and playing this game because opened up my brain to some new words.

Kiwi Can

Kiwi Can

Today we had Kiwi Can with Mr Matt and Ms Lily in LS2 because we are going on a trip to the  Auckland Philharmonic  Orchestra.  What we did was played two games and the first game was called Beats, in this game, everyone sat in a circle, and there was one person in the middle on a chair. There was one person in the circle that was chosen in the circle to start a beat, everyone in the circle had to follow it but the person in the middle had to guess which person stared the beat.  I really liked this game and it was really fun.

HIIT

HIIT

Today we had a HIIT session. For this HIIT session, we did Sit Ups, Star Jumps, Tap Step and High Knee Sprints. Our energizer this week was running on the spot and walking on the spot. We were lead by Matatio, Tiava, Zane, and Lyric, they did a really great job with their leading by motivated us to try harder and so did Mrs. Anderson by cheering us on. We all wanted to get puffed / pau te hau in our exercise. I can't wait for the next one.

Bridge Building

Bridge Building

Today for Inquiry our groups were busy with bridge building. For our bridge, we decided to make a truss bridge. Yesterday we made the one side of the truss and dried our night but today we created our deck and the other side of the truss. We are waiting for it to dry and tomorrow we are assembling it tomorrow. I worked collaboratively with Hajera, Joshua V, and Viva.  All of our hard work paid off.  Everyone else in the other group's bridges looked really cool and I liked them all.

Virtual Reality - Research

Virtual Reality - Research

Today Yvonne and her research team from the Augmented human lab at Auckland University came to do some research in LS2. This was all based on the subject we have been learning about in Inquiry. We were put into three groups and in each, they did different things. In my group, we did learning about how people traveled from Pakuranga to Panmure and how the Panmure Bridge was built and what materials were used. This was a recap of the work that we have been learning about for a couple of weeks. After the activity had finished we got pizza for all the kids whose parents signed the forms and we got a lot of pizza. Our school was the first in our area to take part in this amazing experiment. I would like to thank Yvonne and her team for doing this research and all had really great fun.
